Georgie continues our breeding program with many fine qualities. A grandson of Catcher, he is a wonderful combination of his sire, CH Tuscanadeel Big As Texas and his dam CH Minda Nstar Thru The Lookinglass TT and he’s very close to being our ideal Akita. As impressive as he is in pictures, we’re always pleased how much he “wows!” people when they first meet him. Massive with a stunning head piece, huge leg bone, deep chest and big, stand-off coat, he has a sweet, easy going temperament that makes him a delight to live with.
He finished his championship very quickly under the expert tutelage of the charming Bill McFadden and went onto many prestigious awards and many group placements both in the US and Mexico despite being an indifferent show dog. In 2008, after being shown only a handful of times for several years, we took him to Salt Lake City where under esteemed breeder judge, Ms Nancy Amburgey, guided by Larry Fenner, he won Best In Show at the Akita Club of America National Specialty, a moment that took us beyond any of our wildest dreams, a moment that brought us to tears, a moment we smile over again and again and will forever.
Beyond all the wonderful thrills he’s given us in the show ring, his true forte has been his abilities as a stud dog. In a kennel blessed with several generations of fabulous stud dogs, Georgie has taken our breeding program to another level of excellence. Producing offspring of unsurpassed consistency with winners world wide, he has produced the next generation of remarkable offspring for many kennels besides our own. Many of the dogs in our breeding program are children and grandchildren of his and I know we will benefit from his phenomenal qualities for many generations to come.
After being retired from the conformation show ring, Georgie has gone onto a career in Rally-O, which he is enjoying tremendously and excelling in as well. One of his Rally performances can be seen here and he gained his Rally Novice title in 3 quick shows! And when all the allocades for this amazing dog are said and done, he still remains my best friend, my confidant, my bed buddy, my huggle-buggle boy, my heart dog. It’s not often one person is blessed with two heart dogs at once and I know I am truly blessed… beyond my wildest dreams…
